How does ActivTrax work?

Our patented online technology creates customized resistance training workouts using the equipment already available in your membership center. ActivTrax staff will inventory and number the resistance equipment at your YMCA.  Once activated into the ActivTrax system, each time a member arrives at the Y they receive a new workout telling them exactly which number machine to use, how to set the weights, and the number of repetitions to perform.  The workouts progress with a member to make confusion and boredom a thing of the past.

How does ActivTrax help with member recruitment?

Your YMCA-branded ActivTrax kiosk should be the very first stop on the tour. With a quick demo by your YMCA tour guide, the ActivTrax kiosk can show new health seekers just how easy getting in shape can be.  They'll quickly come to realize that you not only provide a fantastic facility in a non-intimidating environment, but their customized ActivTrax workouts remove the mystery behind working out. 


How does ActivTrax help with member engagement and retention?

ActivTrax makes member engagement a natural process with both long-term members and new health seekers.  Before beginning their ActivTrax workouts, your YMCA fitness director spends one-on-one time with each member asking them about their workout preferences and experience, and guiding them through our 5-step patented strength test.  Their responses and results are evaluated to produce a workout that's built specifically around their wants, needs and goals every time they visit their Y. In addition to staff interaction, ActivTrax produces valuable reports that help your staff track members' progress and highlight those at risk of quitting.


Will ActivTrax hurt personal training revenue?

Absolutely not! In fact, ActivTrax is an effective feeder system to help your trainers reach new clients. The Call/Status Report identifies why a member might be struggling and provides an invaluable opportunity to reach out and help them. 


Will the staff at ActivTrax help us transition from our current online training program or system?

Yes, our in-house staff have the experience and materials to help you seamlessly transition your members off of your existing online training program and onto ActivTrax.  Once assimilated, we're confident your members will find ActivTrax to be a much more robust and user-friendly training/nutrition program than your former system.


How does ActivTrax compare to other online training/nutrition programs?

ActivTrax goes well beyond what you've experienced with other online training/nutrition systems at a cost that is affordable to both larger associations and independent Ys. Using the equipment already available at your membership center, the ActivTrax kiosk provides your members with a workout prescription, as well as nutrition guidance, that is customized around their individual experience levels, preferences and goals. In addition, the member data stored in the ActivTrax system is owned by you ― and you can use it whenever and however you want to further your member engagement efforts.


Does ActivTrax require additional equipment or technological enhancements?

The simple answer is, no.  Unlike other online training programs, there's absolutely no need to spend money on additional equipment or technological enhancements. All you need is an Internet connection! 


Does ActivTrax require additional staff resources?

No, ActivTrax is designed to work with your existing staff model, tour and orientation process. It also serves as a robust tool to help your membership and fitness staff become more effective in their jobs.
